Public Health Held Seminar on Medical Anthropology

UIN Online - The study of the influence of the cultural elements in the society about the disease and health that look at the community comprehension and the influence of the cultural elements contained in the Medical Anthropology. Related to that case, Public Health Department of Health Science Faculty of Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN Alauddin) Alauddin Makassar held seminar. Thursday (09/11).

This activity was held in LT building of Health Science Faculty of Campus Samata-Gowa, a seminar with the theme 'Medical Anthropology: How to Find the Tangent Point between the Medical Sciences and Society Value Systems' which presented a reliable speaker, Dr. Adlin Sila, Ph.D, the alumnus of Anthropology Department of Australian National University.

Dr. dr. H Andi Armyn Nurdin, M.Sc., the Dean of Health Science Faculty admitted that he was highly appreciative to the event of Medical Anthropology seminar, "Anthropology is a branch of science of the human and social aspects of health and anthropology is one of ecological factors that cause an illness so that Medical Anthropology is an important health science," said the Dean when delivering a speech at the opening of the seminar.

Meanwhile, Dr. Adlin Sila, when presenting his material at the seminar, stated that a reality in the society that had various kinds of health treatment became the target of Medical Anthropology.

Not only the faculty leaders and the students attended the seminar but also the head of Study Center of Social and Technology, the Institute of Research and Community Service (LP2M), Prof. Hamdan Juhannis, MA., Ph.D., presented the seminar.
